Indeed job postings
So far this year Indeed job postings have shown signs of a slight cooling and this certainly extends into the third quarter of 2022. However, demand for workers remains quite strong. As of August 12th, Indeed job postings are 51.7% above their pre-pandemic baseline.
Healthcare job postings
Contrary to the overall labor market trend there has been some job postings growth in a few Healthcare segments. Pharmacy (99.9% above pre-pandemic baseline) and Physician & Surgeon (82.7%) postings have climbed in recent months. Additionally, Nursing (68.6%) postings have recently clocked marginal gains. This divergence from the overall labor market is not all too surprising as demand for workers in most healthcare segments has remained strong throughout the pandemic.
Other segments in the Healthcare vertical are mostly flat, with the exception of Therapy (62%) job postings, which recently ticked upward. Personal Care & Home Health (73%) and Medical Technician (78.7%) postings have only moved sideways in recent weeks.
Signing bonuses
In recent research the Indeed Hiring Lab focused on employers’ advertisement of signing bonuses in job postings, which is something that has become more common in the current tight labor market. When we look at the job categories with the highest share of job postings advertising a sign on bonus, Healthcare jobs occupy five of the top eight spots, with Nursing leading the way, which shows how in-demand these workers are.
Job seeker interest
The Indeed Hiring Lab’s Relative Job Seeker Interest measure gives a sense of how job seeker interest in different roles has changed over time. Job seekers have recently shown more interest in Personal Care & Home Health roles, which is a welcome change as their postings have been getting less job seeker interest since early in the pandemic.
Job seeker interest in other Healthcare roles has remained consistent. Nursing, Physicians & Surgeons, and Pharmacy roles are getting just a bit more interest from job seekers than they were pre-pandemic.
